Saturday, October 14, 2017 marked B-More Dog's 6th consecutive year visiting the Park Heights neighborhood of northwest Baltimore. Located along busy Reisterstown Road, the Rev. Dr. Eleanor Graham Bryant Legacy Community Park is one of the smallest spaces in which we have held our clinics.
Medical Consults were the story of the day in Park Heights. Of the 62 dogs who saw the vet, 40 dogs needed more veterinary attention than a vaccine. With so many dogs needing extra help, our line moved much more slowly throughout the day. We are very grateful to the clients who were so patient, and to our volunteers who stayed beyond the usual end time. And thankfully, our amazing volunteer veterinarian, Dr. Michelle Myers, is always prepared. Nearly all the dogs who needed assistance were able to receive it at the event. The majority of these cases are skin and/or flea issues. We do refer to a veterinary hospital for issues that cannot be treated on-site at the clinic, such as for bladder stones like one pup was suffering from.
